Day 229 – Kings, Justice, and the Good Shepherd — Jeremiah 22–24 | Bible In A Year (CSB)

Jeremiah delivers God’s word of judgment to Judah’s kings, exposing their failure to uphold justice and care for the people. In contrast, God promises a righteous Branch who will reign with wisdom and righteousness. The vision of good and bad figs highlights the difference between those who submit to God’s discipline and those who continue in rebellion.

Questions:
1. In Jeremiah 22, God calls out the kings of Judah for neglecting justice. What does this reveal about how God views leadership and responsibility?

2. Jeremiah 23 promises a righteous Branch from David’s line. How does this deepen our understanding of Christ’s role as King and Shepherd?

3. In Jeremiah 24, the exiles who submit to God’s discipline are compared to good figs. How does this image challenge our view of trials and God’s refining work in our lives?
