NT Framework 94 – Works of the Father, Part 5

SBC Family,

Tomorrow we will conclude the 7 works of the Father. This will complete the 21 works of the Spirit, the Son, and the Father. The Father is the planner, the Son is the one who executes the plan, and the Spirit is the one who implements and reveals the plan. As the Triune God the three are equal in essence but carry out distinct but related roles.

We will look particularly at the Father’s works of chastening/discipline and glorification.

I’m really looking forward to the next section of the Framework where we will study the History of the Church. It is very important to understand how we got where we are in our beliefs. It is even more important to understand the basis of our beliefs. I will start with a review of the Framework and why we are studying the Bible in terms of three categories; the historicity of the events, the doctrines taught by the events, and the alternative world view (apologetics) which is biblically insupportable and irrational.

We want to train our children to think through the Bible and that is what the Framework trains people to do. Once the reasoning is in place then there is no other way to think so that our children are firm in the faith, which is the entire goal; to produce loyalty to God in our children.
