Today I’m inspecting a rental condo/apartment where the tenant vacated early.
Because he broke the lease and left before the agreed term, he did not receive his security deposit back — which is standard under the lease terms. However, before leaving, he also complained about mold growth in the unit.
Now it’s time for the move-out inspection to see:
💭 Was there actually mold?
💭 Was the property left clean?
💭 Did the tenant cause damage beyond normal wear and tear?
In property management, this step is critical because:
✅ It documents the property’s condition for the landlord’s records
✅ It protects both landlord and tenant in case of disputes
✅ It determines what repairs, cleaning, or remediation are needed before the next tenant moves in
