India is celebrating its 79th Independence Day today. In his address to the nation from the ramparts of Red Fort, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that India is working towards becoming self-reliant in the space sector. He said India will make its own space station, while is also preparing for the launch of Gaganyaan (India's flagship human spaceflight programme).
