08/15/25: Conscious Intoxication, Blind Trust & Discernment in an Era of Manufactured Consent

Through our own experiences, we explore the difference between conscious and unconscious substance use, and how unaddressed trauma can manifest as maladaptive coping mechanisms or outright substance misuse. We also talk about why we believe there are intentional and productive ways to engage with state-altering substances, a perspective that may challenge anyone whose identity is deeply enmeshed with strict sobriety. (Somehow, this all emerged from a conversation about reality star Jax Taylor.)

We then riff on the escalation of censorship in the United States, drawing direct lines between recent events and the larger agenda to erode privacy and autonomy. We also dismantle the myth that the public is incapable of critical inquiry, sharing practical methods for independent research to help uncover what’s been obfuscated by mainstream search algorithms. We encourage everyone listening to implement the guiding principle: Never trust, always verify.
