Discover the truth behind Piercebridge's Roman ruins – or is it all just a clever reconstruction? Join me on a bike ride through this historic UK village as we explore 500-year-old pubs, Roman bridges, ancient fort remains… and question what’s real and what’s just modern concrete disguised as history. Expect stunning views, unexpected animals, and a heated rant about historical authenticity. If you love hidden history, Roman Britain, or debunking historical myths, this one’s for you!

Piercebridge Roman Fort, perhaps originally known as Morbium or Vinovium, is situated in the village of Piercebridge on the banks of the River Tees.
nearby, near the 500 year old The George Pub (where legend has it, Highwayman Dick Turpin Stayed) is the remains of the roman bridge (there was a few, this was the stone one).
Now, I have an issue with historians, things get changed, moved about and the public are told, "thats how it was" when its a guess, Stonehenge is a prime example, there are many photos of the stones being moved about like a giant Lego set, to fit what the historians "Think" is how it was...
I call this type of history, "Artists interpretations" its like watching a film based on real events....its not real, its an interpretation of facts and changing it to suite a story or narrative.
so please, enjoy, and next time you are somewhere, think critically.
