Guangzhou and the area Guangdong (Canton) is located in southern China, not far from Hong Kong and the Hainan island province of China and the nation’s southernmost point. Guangzhou It is a large city with surrounding suburbs (Guangdong), has a population of approximately 32 million, and the city center itself, around 18 million. The beautiful architecture includes the box-shaped Guangdong Museum, the Library, built in the shape of a book, and the iconic Canton TV Tower, which resembles a thin hourglass. The Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, a temple complex dating from 1894, houses the Guangdong Folk Arts Museum. The city is steeped in history, dating back to the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BCE), the first imperial dynasty of China, unifying the previously warring states. It is known for its centralized government, standardization of language and measures, and ambitious construction projects, including the early Great Wall (found in northeast China, not in Guangzhou).
