Paul Dans is an American attorney and former senior official in the Trump administration. He served as Chief of Staff for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and later led the Presidential Personnel Office’s "Schedule F" civil service reform initiative in 2020, which aimed to reclassify certain federal positions to allow greater hiring and firing flexibility. Before his government roles, Dans worked as a corporate lawyer and in regulatory compliance. After leaving government, he became director of the Heritage Foundation’s 2025 Presidential Transition Project, also known as "Project 2025," which focuses on policy planning and staffing for a potential future conservative administration. He holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
