It’s the world’s first cruise ship powered entirely by liquefied natural gas — and building it was an engineering challenge like no other.
At 337 meters long and capable of carrying over 6,600 passengers, the AIDAnova is a floating city complete with a TV studio, theater, restaurants, pools, and entertainment venues. But beneath the luxury lies groundbreaking technology that dramatically reduces emissions:

Nitrogen oxide emissions cut by up to 80%

CO₂ emissions reduced by about 20%

Constructed at Meyer Werft shipyard in Lower Saxony, Germany, this LNG-powered giant was assembled from 15 million individual parts. From the first steel cut to the ship’s maiden voyage, every stage of its creation pushed the limits of modern shipbuilding.

In this full HD documentary, follow the journey of the AIDAnova from design and assembly to launch — and discover what it takes to build one of the most advanced cruise ships in the world.
