My Advice to Catholic Young Men: https://crisismagazine.com/opinion/my-advice-to-catholic-young-men

Items One through Five discussed today:

• #1: Know who you are, know your Lane, and what you stand for
• Are you a Good or Bad person? Where is your moral compass pointing?
• Do you know what your Lane is? That is what is your job, your function in society?
• Do you know what you stand for? Where is your flag planted? What is your red line?
• If you don’t know these things, your whole life will just be reacting off of people around you.
• You will be a fatalistic person, thinking that the whole world is against you
• By knowing these things, you can chart your course through the chaos of the world
• -----------------------------------------------
• #2: Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, confess with your lips God raised him from the dead
• We cannot save ourselves. We need a savior. It’s in the bible. Read it
• Just being a good person will not save you. God, through Jesus Christ wants a relationship with you
• Other religions might sound more exciting, but none offer you a savior. They judge you by your performance. As followers of Jesus, God judges Jesus’s performance on the Cross, we are saved by grace
• Go to Church weekly, read the bible, find a men’s bible fellowship group
• Pray regularly
• ---------------------------------------------------------
• #3: Rise early, be disciplined with a plan for the day, get into excellent physical condition
• It is an established fact that Most individuals experience peak productivity in the morning
• A plan for the day increases productivity, make lists if you have to
• And proper diet [carnivore or keto] and solid physical activity keep us mentally and bodily sharp
• -------------------------------------------------------------
• #4: Always be in Adventure Mode – men are create for that
• When they need a volunteer for a good cause, raise your hand first
• The more Nanny-ism type statements you hear about an activity, then be looking to take that activity on as a challenge
• Great recent example is Robert Youens, a 71-year-old man from Texas, recently completed the Great Loop* in a 16-foot Jon boat named "Ageless Wanderer", setting a new record for the fastest solo completion of the *6,000-mile route. He finished the journey in 19 days, 13 hours, and 1 minute, surpassing the previous single-engine record
• There’s no shortage of people telling you to stay indoors when it is “too hot” or “too cold”
• Screw that, go outside, test yourself, don’t be stupid, but don’t be timid. Learn what you can do
• Nanny’s will tell you to shun anything that has a motor in it, or wear every piece of safety gear known to man
• Screw that! David beat Goliath with a sling shot, when he put all of Saul’s armor on, he couldn’t even move. Don’t be stupid, be prudent, but do RUN towards the challenge
• Take self-defense courses, learn to shoot a gun, learn to shoot a cross bow
• ------------------------------------------------------------
• #5: Don’t make a serious life changing mistake
• We all make mistakes or do things wrong, ask me how I know
• Don’t do things to damage your life path
• Living toward biblical sexual ethics will be a big help, look that up in the Bible if you don’t know what that means
• Avoid Porn at all costs
• Marry a Godly woman or don’t marry at all
• Don’t commit crimes
• Don’t do drugs, don’t get drunk
• Avoid non-sustainable debt, use debt smartly [buying a house with debt vs two weeks at Disney World on debt]
