Malachi 3: Prophecies of John the Baptist and Yeshua

We connect Malachi’s prophecy with Psalm 118:19-29, the call to enter the gates of righteousness, the rejection of the chief cornerstone, and the praise due to the One who comes in the name of the Lord. These verses reveal that God’s plan at the First Coming was not political overthrow but self-sacrifice—the very thing foreshadowed when Abraham was willing to offer Isaac on Mount Moriah. Just as God provided a substitute for Isaac, He provided Himself in the person of Yeshua, the Lamb of God, who was willing to give His life on the altar of sacrifice.

We also examine how Yeshua came suddenly to His temple, fulfilling prophecy by cleansing and refining the Levites—work symbolized as the refiner’s fire and launderer’s soap. This purification points forward to the final judgment and the preparation of God’s people for the great and dreadful Day of the Lord.
