Brave New York female officer fights and captures suspect in the water

The incident happened on August 5 in Queens. Matthew Swafford, the car theft suspect, in an attempt to escape, jumped off the dock into the East Rockaway Inlet.
A female officer, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, quickly removed the gear she was carrying, kept only her police uniform, and jumped into the water to pursue the suspect—leaving colleagues and nearby residents stunned. Remarkably, she didn’t even use any weapon.
