USPS worker who flaunted stacks of cash on social media admits to stealing checks from mail

Mary Ann Magdamit, 31, a former USPS worker from Carson, California, pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit bank fraud after stealing mail containing checks, credit cards, and personal information from 2022 to July 2025.

She used the stolen items to fund luxury purchases and international trips, sold some to co-conspirators, and facilitated check cashing with fake IDs.

Searches of her home uncovered over 130 stolen cards, U.S. Treasury checks, luxury goods, and a loaded “ghost gun,” The Hill has reported.

Magdamit faces up to 30 years in prison when sentenced on Oct. 27.
