A man was caught on a surveillance camera licking and sniffing the shoes left outside an apartment in southern China.

CCTV footage filmed in the city of Zhaoqing in Guangdong Province on June 24, shows a man squatting on the floor to lick the soles of a pair of shoes, followed by sniffing them outside a woman's flat.

On June 26, the property management staff of the apartment complex responded to the incident, stating that the man is suspected to have followed the female resident into the building.

The matter has been reported to the local police station and an investigation is currently underway to apprehend the individual responsible.
