Successive governments in NZ have been a total failure in protecting children from physical and sexual violence. And still are.. NZ is number 5 out of 31 plus OECD Countries for the highest child abuse- physical/sexual.

One in 3 Women in NZ have experienced sexual or/ and physical abuse in their lifetime. One in 8 males have also experienced sexual / physical abuse in their lifetimes. One in 10 young people aged between 12 – yrs have been physically hurt by an Adult in their own home in just 1 year
The Economic cost of family violence is estimated at $7 Billion per year with Sexual Violence at $6.9 Billion per year. No cost whatever can take away the Abuse- Violence hurt that these victims suffer.
BUT LOOK OVER THERE AT THE SOCIAL MEDIA PLATFORMS- Nothing to see here. And hasn't it always been the case through successive governments.. no public discussion- debate on the huge concerns around child abuse- sexual and physical violence in the home. Government would rather talk Climate Change. Again abusing our children by using fear tactics- rising seas.
