1) NEVER voluntarily disarm yourself when trying to apprehend a perp, especially one who is fleeing and actively resisting.

2) NEVER voluntarily separate yourself from your partner.

3) When a perp jumps in the water, call ESU and Harbor, and wait him out. There was no life threatening situation to warrant the officer putting herself in this compromising position.

It's hard enough to arrest a perp by yourself when you're on land, let's not do it in the ocean! Brave, but really dumb!
