Day 39 | Tuesday, August 12th, 2025 — Topic: YOUR AHITOPHEL SHALL COMMIT SUICIDE

Scriptures from New King James Version as follows:
2 Samuel 15:31-37,
Then someone told David, saying, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” And David said, “O Lord, I pray, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness!” Now it happened when David had come to the top of the mountain, where he worshiped God—there was Hushai the Archite coming to meet him with his robe torn and dust on his head. David said to him, “If you go on with me, then you will become a burden to me. But if you return to the city, and say to Absalom, ‘I will be your servant, O king; as I was your father’s servant previously, so I will now also be your servant,’ then you may defeat the counsel of Ahithophel for me. And do you not have Zadok and Abiathar the priests with you there? Therefore it will be that whatever you hear from the king’s house, you shall tell to Zadok and Abiathar the priests. Indeed they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz, Zadok’s son, and Jonathan, Abiathar’s son; and by them you shall send me everything you hear.” So Hushai, David’s friend, went into the city. And Absalom came into Jerusalem. hallelujah.

2 Samuel 17:23,
Now when Ahithophel saw that his advice was not followed, he saddled a donkey, and arose and went home to his house, to his city. Then he put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died; and he was buried in his father’s tomb. hallelujah.

Spiritual summary and meditation:
Ahithophel was considered as a highly recognized and respected man in Israel because he used to give impeccable, reliable and acceptable counsels that usually gave proper, adequate direction, insight and solution, regarding to any matter of interest.
Also, he was widely known and reputed in Israel for the quality, exactness, certainty and reliability of his counsels. In 2Samuel 16:23, the Scripture says that, "any advice Ahithophel gave in those days was accepted as though it was the very word of God; both David and Absalom followed it"
Ahithophel was also a conspirator. He conspired with Absalom the son of King David and his group to kill his father David, when he was in rebellion against him. 'Absalom planned to assassinate his father in order to forcefully take over his throne and reign as the king of Israel. He gave Absalom and his group valid, reliable and unfailing advice on how to track down and assassinate his father David in order to validate his kingship, but unfortunately his advice was tactically and meticulously countered by the advice of Hushai, a
trusted friend of King David, who was specifically planted in that group for that purpose. Apparently, by divine influences and
arrangement, the well articulated counsel of Ahithophel was rejected by Absalom and all Israel According to the word of God in 2 Samuel 17:23,
"When Ahithophel saw that his advice had not been followed, he saddled his donkey and went back to his hometown.

After putting his affairs in order, he hanged himself. Pray Effective Prayer Book-Prayer #37.
PRAYER For HELP In TIME Of TROUBLE.

Lord, do not be angry and rebuke me! Do not Punish me in your anger! I am worn out, O Lord, have pity on me! Give me strength, I am completely exhausted and my whole being is deeply troubled. How long will you wait to help me? Come and save me; Lord, in your mercy rescue me from death.
In the world of death you are not remembered, no one can praise you there. I am worn out with grief, every night my bed is damp from my weeping, my pillow is soaked with tears I can hardly see, my eyes are so swollen from the weeping caused by my enemies.
Keep away from me, you evil men! The Lord hears my weeping; he listens to my cry for help and will answer my prayer.
Therefore, as it is written in Micah 7:8, I declare “rejoice not against me, O mine enemy. When I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light unto me”. Amen.
My enemies will know the bitter shame of defeat, in sudden confusion they will be driven away in Jesus name. Amen.
