A Brockton man is facing several gun and alcohol-related charges after a traffic stop in Roxbury early Saturday morning, according to Boston Police.

Officers pulled over 28-year-old Allante Pires around 2:42 a.m. near Hazelwood Street, after spotting his vehicle speeding through the intersection of Moreland and Warren Streets. Police say Pires showed clear signs of intoxication—including slurred speech, glossy eyes, and the strong smell of alcohol—and had an open container inside the car.

When asked for his vehicle’s registration, Pires couldn’t produce it. Police also spotted a knife on his waistband. Both Pires and a passenger initially refused to exit the vehicle, but officers eventually got them out and conducted a search.

Inside the vehicle, police recovered a Glock 19 handgun loaded with a round in the chamber and a 24-round magazine.

Pires was arrested and now faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, having a large-capacity firearm, operating under the influence, and speeding. He is set to appear in Roxbury District Court.
