A record-breaking multi-agency operation in Florida has rescued 60 children from dangerous, often horrifying situations in Hillsborough, Pinellas, and Pasco counties. Over a two-week period, the U.S. Marshals Service and 20 law enforcement agencies joined forces in an undercover effort targeting child trafficking and exploitation in the Bay Area.

Channel 8’s Jeff Patterson reports live from Tampa with exclusive footage and details from the field. Many of the rescued children—ages 9 to 17—were victims of human trafficking. The eight suspects arrested face charges ranging from trafficking and child endangerment to drug offenses. Authorities say the average offender was in their 30s to 40s, preying on vulnerable youth.

Officials emphasize that while this operation marks a major success, the work is far from over. Advocates and law enforcement continue efforts to find other at-risk children still out there.
