Day 223 – Warnings of Coming Judgment — Jeremiah 4–6 | Bible In A Year (CSB)

Jeremiah delivers urgent warnings of impending disaster due to Judah’s stubborn sin. The call to repentance grows more desperate as images of invading armies and societal collapse fill these chapters. Yet, even in the midst of judgment, God continues to plead for His people to return to Him before it’s too late.

Questions:
1. In Jeremiah 4, God calls for His people to “circumcise” their hearts—what does this reveal about the difference between outward religion and inward transformation?

2. Jeremiah 5 describes a people who refuse correction—how does this help us understand the dangers of ignoring God’s warnings in our own lives?

3. In Jeremiah 6, God compares His people to metal that refuses to be refined—what does this metaphor teach us about God’s refining work and our response to it?
