The difference between Israeli and American Jews is palpable for every American visiting Israel and for every Israeli visiting America. Each senses immediately that “these are not the kind of Jews I know from back home.” Sociologically speaking, it is evident that Israeli Jews have the mentality and sensibilities of a majority group, whereas American Jews think, feel, and behave like a minority group.
