Genesis 35 - Verses 11-15 - God Renews His Covenant with Jacob

In this chapter, God commands Jacob to return to Bethel and build an altar. Jacob leads his household in repentance, putting away idols and purifying themselves. At Bethel, God reaffirms His covenant, changes Jacob’s name to Israel, and promises him a nation and kings. This chapter also records Rachel’s death during the birth of Benjamin and the passing of Isaac.
