Borrowed Blades in the Reign of Terror (1793) #history #shorts

In 1793, during France’s bloody Reign of Terror, executions were happening so fast that one guillotine wasn’t enough.
Workshops in Paris couldn’t build new machines quickly enough — so cities began lending their guillotines to each other.
Blades and frames were hauled across towns like shared tools.
It was the 18th-century version of borrowing your neighbor’s lawnmower…
…only instead of cutting grass, it was carrying out state executions. ⚖️🪓
A chilling reminder of how industrialized death became during the revolution.
