(RAD: Ever since the end of the Cold War, the US has been focused on finding ways to defeat Russia & split it up into smaller regions that could be controlled by the US & NATO & the West. The US & NATO & Europe have repeatedly broken promises & treaties, instead of improving better relations between Russia & the West. The US is hell bent on maintaining their hegemonic dominion over the entire world, even as major geopolitical & geoeconomic changes are taking place that the US no longer controls. Trump has also declared war on all 20 BRICS nations.

Recently, the US falsely lured Iran into negotiations while backing Israel to attack Iran in the 12-day war in an attempt to overthrow the Iranian government. Trump even sent B-2 bombers in an attempt to destroy Iran's peaceful enrichment of uranium. Of course it is ok for Israel to have many nuclear weapons & threaten all of their neighbors & wage genocide in Gaza.

Brian quotes position papers from the Heritage Foundation that lay out how the US plans to defeat Russia, Iran, China & any other nations that threaten the US hegemonic position. Trump has surrounded himself with neocons who ascribe to these objectives.

It seems foolish to assume that Trump is actually focusing on real peace in Ukraine when he continued supplying weapons, intelligence, and financial aid. Now he wants Europe to purchase weapons from the US to give to Ukraine. Also, when you examine the historical context of the Ukrainian conflict, the US is the key player. Trump has shown no interest of resolving the root causes of the conflict in Ukraine that the US is behind.

Brian & Glenn raise a lot of questions that we should be concerned about, no matter what 'agreement' might emerge from a Trump-Putin negotiation in Alaska. Even if there seem to be some short-term agreements, will they be honored by the US & what are the long-term implications of the root causes not addressed? — RAD)
