In June 2024, Kenya deployed 400 police officers to lead the UN-backed Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti to combat gang violence. By February 2025, 599 officers were in Port-au-Prince, patrolling and securing infrastructure. Despite repelling gang attacks, three officers were injured in August 2025. The mission, extended to January 2026, faces funding issues after a US aid freeze, but Kenya reports progress in stabilizing Haiti.
