Spirit, soul and body
We are all born spiritually dead
Our spirit is "quickened" or brought alive at the moment we place our faith/trust/belief in the finished work of Christ on the cross, for our sins, Him being God
As a result, saved believers have their souls "sealed with that holy Spirit of promise " (Ephesians 1:13) and we are told to "not grieve the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption" (Ephesians 4:30)
But we have a twin nature; the old man (outward man) and the new man (inward man); we are told to "put off" and "put on"; we are informed of the "law of God" and the "law of sin"; and we are told to "walk in the Spirit" and to not "walk in the flesh"
In descending order of mentions; Romans (13), Colossians (7), Ephesians (6), Galatians (4), 2 Corinthians (3) and Matthew (3), 1 Corinthians (2) and 2 Peter (2), and Mark (1), Luke (1), John (1) and Acts (1)
“O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?” (Romans 7:24)
