DANIELS: “Representative, you know, you guys have fines against you that are piling up. NBC reporting that the you guys face a $500 fine for each day they’re, quote, absent without leave. Those fines have already eclipsed the 600 monthly salary the lawmakers receive. Also, it appears that they’re forcing you guys to go and get your checks now and they’ve canceled your, you know, that little check to cancel your direct deposit, to try to force you to come and get both your checks and your your per diem that you guys get a day. How long do you do you really believe that you guys can hold out? I know you’re going to say it for a long time. I know you said you’re no ways tired, but these fines will pile up. You guys will be gone from your family members for a long time. How long are you willing to be out of the state, Eugene?”

Reynolds: “You know, it is a sacrifice. And I would be lying to you if I said, oh, forever. But I can tell you right now, our resolve is stronger than it’s ever been. And we’ve already seen that we’ve been a catalyst for change. We saw California governor Newsom yesterday said that they’re going to put a ballot referendum on the ballot for November to redistrict in California. So we’re trying to hold out as long as we can to get other blue states like New York and Maryland and other places that they do the same thing. We got to change the rules of engagement and not allow President Trump to continue to bring have us bringing knives to a gunfight. So if it’s good for the goose, it’s good for the gander. We will do whatever it takes for however long it takes. That is our mission. And so we don’t have an end date. Governor Abbott has made it clear he’s going to call a special session after special session after special session. Well guess what? Our resolve is stronger than it’s ever been. And the love and the pouring of support—“
