Day 221 – A Plea for Mercy and the Promise of a New Creation — Isaiah 64–66 | Bible In A Year (CSB)

Isaiah 64 opens with a heartfelt cry for God to come down and act on behalf of His people, acknowledging both their sin and His mercy. In Isaiah 65, God responds with both judgment for the rebellious and blessings for His faithful remnant, pointing to a new heavens and new earth. Isaiah 66 closes the book with a vision of God’s glory being revealed to all nations and His people finding joy in His eternal reign.

Questions:
1. In Isaiah 64, the people confess their sin while pleading for God’s intervention—how does this model both humility and hope in prayer?

2. Isaiah 65 describes a new heavens and new earth—how should this promise shape our perspective on the brokenness of the present world?

3. In Isaiah 66, God extends His salvation to all nations—what does this reveal about His ultimate plan for humanity?
