Expression of Love

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well - Psalms 139:14, 19

Once a year we all get a special day to reflect and celebrate our birth and life universally known as Birthdays. Those around us share their joy and love of how happy and grateful they are to have us in their lives.

Celebrations vary according to cultures and customs but most involve a gathering of family and friends with food and some form of a cake with candles to track the years. If we are fortunate we also get the bonus of presents to which who can say no to free stuff. Some gifts are simple, thoughtful or extravagant but regardless of the gift it's understood that what's important is the heart behind it that matters most.

Having said that few things can embody or capture a person's emotions they feel towards another person beyond the material. But there is one pure gift that transcends all others that is not bound by the laws of our physical realm.

That gift is love!

If we are honest it's the one gift everybody wants unconditionally without measure and the majority of our actions and reactions in life seek to possess it at any cost. This desire to seek, find and maintain it is automatically built into our DNA and it desire is uniscapable.

The struggle we all face is there is only one true source of selfless and fulfilling love and it does not come from human means. It's available to everyone regardless of our circumstances and yet so few choose to receive it.

So what kind of love do I speak of?

Agape love is the answer. It's the purest and only form that satisfies our deep longings and gives us peace beyond mere words.

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails

- 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

This is the only love we need and is the reason why we exist. God created us from this foundation and desires for us to look to him as the only source that can provide what each of us needs.
