Make a 17th Century Japanese Inro and Netsuke - The world's first fanny pack
This is a wonderful cardboard project called an Inro and Netsuke
Which comes out of 17th century Japan when they wore kimonos.
And the kimonos didn't have pockets. So this Inro and Netsuke
was a way to hold objects such as pencils, coins, or anything. In replace
of pockets. These two parts were held together by a cord and suspended over a persons belt.
It is based on an actual museum piece.
I give you the complete template with eight parts that you can cut out
transfer to cardboard and make.
