Political scientist John Mearsheimer has argued that Israel's expansion has been marked by three significant episodes of ethnic cleansing: in 1948, 1967, and following the events of October 7, 2023. This essay explores the creation of Israel, these alleged ethnic cleansings, and the role of the international community, including Arab states, in enabling these events, drawing on Mearsheimer’s perspective while critically examining the historical context and global responses.
