This album is a collection of antique hymns, mostly from an old hymnal in my library, set to modern music. As one early listener said: "I've never heard any Christian music like it." I personally don't think of it as Christian music. In a technical sense it most assuredly is. To me, though, it almost seems to be something behind the music, as if the 'Christian' aspect is merely a surface layer over something much deeper. Feel free to make up your own mind, however. After all, in the beginning, I was merely curious as to how old hymns would sound set to new music.
The songs in my hymnal included neither titles nor musical instructions and in most cases I used the titling convention of using the content of the hymn's first line, though I made exceptions in several cases. For this reason, the hymns in this album may appear in other sources under a -or even many- different titles.
