In "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" (1991), Kevin Costner plays the titular character, Robin of Locksley, who returns from the Crusades to find his father murdered by the Sheriff of Nottingham. He teams up with Azeem, a Moor, and other outlaws to fight against the Sheriff's tyranny and restore justice to England.

Nobleman crusader Robin of Locksley breaks out of a Jerusalem prison with the help of fellow prisoner Azeem, a Moor, and travels back home to England. Upon arrival, Robin discovers his father dead in the ruins of his family estate, killed by the vicious sheriff of Nottingham. Robin and Azeem join forces with outlaws Little John and Will Scarlett to save the kingdom from the sheriff's villainy.
