Today was our 5th grade level lesson, and we pulled everything together into a full story analysis.

📖 Focus Skill: Analyzing how story elements connect and influence each other

Here’s what we did:
✅ Reviewed characters, setting, events, and theme
✅ Created a story web that showed how these elements interact
✅ Identified meaningful connections across the story
✅ Explained how changing one element could affect the entire story structure
✅ Practiced big picture thinking by visualizing how strong stories are built

🎯 One standard. Three grade levels. We didn’t just teach reading, we taught how stories work.
