When considering the Creation text of the Bible, the plants are often overlooked. Yet when really examining the text, we see that the seas were gathered and plants were brought forth on the same day. Is this logical? Could a day have been longer that 24-hours? Could a “day” even have existed on day three since it seems that the sun might not have been there until the fourth day?

These questions are core to those who disregard the Bible’s account of creation and are a real struggle for Creationists to explain away. One key problem is that most people have been reading and studying modern Bibles where liberties have been taken to alter the text in what was felt to be a “better interpretation”.

Plants may very well have evolved to some extent. We see this today in simple cross-pollination when we produce new varieties of plants. But the question remains, is there a God who directed the changes in plants during Creation and if so was it done quickly, or was it over billions of years? Or, was it all nothing more than chance that occurred without any intelligent intervention whatsoever?

When read logically and without bias, and when read from an older authoritative Bible there is a multitude of questions answered in the Genesis one text that addresses the third creation day.

So, we must ask, was the gathering of the waters describing gravity in play? And were the plants created in full form on day three, or maybe they were only initiated on day three and took a while to develop?

There are so many possibilities to consider for the order of events and the time it took to achieve those events if we would only drop our unwillingness to hear other perspectives in the plants-origin debate.
