SCRIPTURE READING FOR
TODAY Gen 44:29-34

29 Now if you take his brother away from me, and any harm comes to him, you will send this grieving, white-haired man to his grave.’
30 “And now, my lord, I cannot go back to my father without the boy. Our father’s life is bound up in the boy’s life.
31 If he sees that the boy is not with us, our father will die. We, your servants, will indeed be responsible for sending that grieving, white-haired man to his grave.
32 My lord, I guaranteed to my father that I would take care of the boy. I told him, ‘If I don’t bring him back to you, I will bear the blame forever.’
33 “So please, my lord, let me stay here as a slave instead of the boy, and let the boy return with his brothers.
34 For how can I return to my father if the boy is not with me? I couldn’t bear to see the anguish this would cause my father!”

The Word of God To Meditate On Today
Gen 44:29-34 NLT Judah Pled The Case For Benjamin and His Brothers
Judah finally could take no more and stepped forward to plead their case. This was risky because Joseph could have had him killed. But Judah courageously defended himself and his brothers and pleaded for mercy. And he offered to put himself in Benjamin's place. There are times to be silent and there are times to speak up, even if there could be serious repercussions. The truth is that when it is time to speak-up, nothing is ever said amiss. It all works together for God's purpose. When faced with a situation that needs a strong voice and courageous action, remember Judah and speak up.

32 Then they sent the tunic of many colors, and they brought it to their father and said, “We have found this. Do you know whether it is your son’s tunic or not?”
33 And he recognized it and said, “It is my son’s tunic. A wild beast has devoured him. Without doubt Joseph is torn to pieces.”
34 Then Jacob tore his clothes, put sackcloth on his waist, and mourned for his son many days.

Father, grant me the grace to speak up when it matters and be silent, when it doesn't. Prov. 17:28 TPT
