IS YOUR FOOD BLESSED? / Coffee With PB

Dear Pastor Bob: Some say that as Christians, we absolutely must pray before anything and everything we eat or drink. Whether it be a snack, coffee, chewing gum, slurpees, ice cream, or a regular meal, we are supposed to pray prior to consuming these things.  Is this Biblical, or is it a legalistic rule invented by tradition in the Church? I try and pray before my meals, but I don’t always pray before eating a snack. Sometimes, my wife will ask me if I prayed a blessing over my snack or meal.  And if I tell her no, she says I had better do it.  I am sure she means well, but it can get annoying for her to remind me so much. Do you have any kind of thoughts on this?

Today's Scripture:
1 Corinthians 10:31
