August 7, 1988 - WLOS Special : 'Billy Graham & Glasnost : A Soviet Celebration'

Anchor Ken Owen takes viewers behind the Iron Curtain, with a look at how Mikhail Gorbachev's policies of glasnost and perestroika are opening Soviet society and religion. Along with photographer Charlie Woodward and producer Debrah Furr Sluder, the journalists were the only crew from the West to cover the millennium of the Russian Orthodox Church. Rev. Graham lived in Western North Carolina and was a WLOS viewer.
