Honey is essentially immortal and doesn't spoil over time. Even if a jar looks old, it's still safe to eat. Archaeologists have discovered edible honey in ancient Egyptian tombs, thousands of years old.

The reason honey doesn't go bad lies in its unique properties:

- Low water content and high sugar concentration prevent the growth of bacteria and mold.
- Bees add an enzyme called glucose oxidase, which produces small amounts of hydrogen peroxide, helping to keep microbes away.

Even if honey crystallizes or becomes cloudy, warming it up restores its original texture. So, a forgotten jar of honey in your pantry isn’t expired—it’s eternal!
