When Israel started using automated targeting systems and loitering drones to kill Palestinians in Gaza, Ousman was stunned by the silence of his colleagues at Stop Killer Robots (a large disarmament campaign) and across the NGO community. He was sacked from a senior post in Stop Killer Robots after speaking out about Israel's assault on Gaza, and warning that the situation could soon turn genocidal. He continues to campaign outside the mainstream NGO milieu with his organisation The Civilian Agenda.
