Magistrates don’t want drama — they want documentation. Show up with a full, printed file and you’re already ahead.
Quick update from today’s eviction court hearing.
This magistrate judge was no-nonsense — zero interest in emotional stories or excuses from either side. He wanted facts only, presented clearly and backed by documents.
🧾 As the plaintiff, I came prepared:
• Complete lease agreement
• Detailed tenant ledger showing unpaid rent
• Served 10-Day Notice
• Proof of service from the Sheriff's Department
• Filed Summary Ejectment paperwork
💼 The tenant didn’t even show up — and in North Carolina, if the tenant is absent and the landlord has sufficient documentation, it’s typically an automatic judgment in the landlord’s favor.
And that’s exactly what happened.
📌 Landlord Tip: When dealing with the courts, especially in NC, it’s not about emotions or long-winded explanations — it’s about evidence, organization, and legal compliance.
This is why property managers are essential. We know how to navigate the system, protect our clients, and keep things professional.
Let’s go!
