Bluegill Fishing on Toledo Bend During a Cold Front – 64 Fish Landed in Brutal Conditions!

We hit Toledo Bend in East Texas chasing big bluegill during what should’ve been warm May weather — but a surprise cold front brought 57° temps, cloudy skies, and strong north winds. The bite was slow and the water rough, but me and my son toughed it out. By mid-day, the sun came out and the bluegill turned on.

With calmer water, we ran to new fishing spots, landed some solid fish, and started stacking numbers. Later, the wind kicked back up — and we had to cross rough waves just to finish the day. Wet, cold, and smiling, we ended with 64 bluegill in the box and a day we won’t forget.

If you’ve ever battled tough weather to find the bite — this video is for you.
