Proverbs 1 – The Call of Wisdom
In the opening of Proverbs, Solomon lifts the curtain on the purpose of all godly instruction: to know wisdom, walk justly, and discern truth. It begins with a warning and an invitation—wisdom is not hidden. She cries out in the streets, pleading with the simple to turn and live.

The chapter contrasts the path of righteousness with the way of the wicked. It warns against those who lure with promises of gain but lead only to destruction. Their trap, we are told, is their own undoing.

And yet, through the noise, Wisdom still calls. She offers security to those who listen—and a firm warning to those who won’t.

This is where knowledge begins: the fear of the Lord.
