What is an Excursus You Ask?

Some have asked me what I think of Dr. Williams' book, “Ninety-Five Theses for a New Reformation: A Road Map for Post-Evangelical Christianity.”? My response has been, if you ever wondered what a book written by a philosopher, apologist, and poet would look like, it would be this big. He is not only a good defender of the faith but also a skilled wordsmith. He concludes the book with Excursus I and Excursus II. The word means “a detailed discussion of some point in a book, especially one added as an appendix.” Over the next two weeks, we will examine some concluding items that would benefit from further discussion.
