Syrian regime gangs are kidnapping Druze women and toddlers despite the declared ceasefire in Suwayda in southern Syria.

ISIS and Syrian regime fighters are publishing footage of themselves kidnapping Druze women and a very young toddler. They declare themselves to be part of ISIS, and accuse Hikmat al-Hajri, the spiritual leader of the Druze community in Syria, of being responsible for what is happening to the hostages.

They are not afraid to reveal themselves as the kidnappers - they know the regime will do nothing to them because they themselves are the regime.

Druze sources report hundreds of hostages who have still not returned and are being held by the “Bedouin tribes” and regime gangs, which are besieging Suwayda and allowing only very limited aid to enter.

There isn’t much documentation from inside Suwayda because the regime has shut down the internet in the area, and the little material that does get out comes via Druze who have Starlink satellite internet.

The regime is tightening the noose around the Druze in Suwayda and hopes to subdue them this way.
