Babylon (or Babel) is mentioned at least 296 times in the King James Bible:

FIRST MENTION(S): Genesis 10:8-10, 11:1-9

Genesis 10:8-10 ~ “And Cush [{Shem, Ham, Japeth}Ham, Cush, Nimrod] begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, “Even as Nimrod (rebel ~ let us revolt] the mighty hunter before the LORD.” And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel [confusion], and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.”

Genesis 11:4 ~ “And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.”

Genesis 11:9 ~ “Therefore is the name of it called Babel [confusion]; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.”

Revelation 14:8 ~ “And there followed another Angel, saying, ‘Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”

Revelation 16:19 ~ “And the Great City was divided into three parts, and the cities of the Nations fell: and Great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.

Revelation 17:1-2,5 ~ “And there came one of the seven Angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, ‘Come here; I will show unto thee the judgment of the Great Whore that sitteth upon many waters: with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication….And upon her forehead was a name written, ‘MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.’”

The Fall of Babylon: Revelation 18:1-6 ~ “And after these things I saw another Angel come down from Heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, ‘Babylon The Great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. For all Nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.’ [NOTE: sexual perversion and money] And I heard another voice from Heaven, saying, ‘Come out of her, my people, that you be not partakers of her sins, and that you receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto Heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she has filled fill to her double.
Revelation 18:24 ~ “And in her was found the blood of Prophets, and of Saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.” [timeless]

"Hateful Birds" is another way of saying demon spirits. The operative word is hatred. Demons of hatred flooding the earth.

"Wine" speaks of concentrate. The result of fruit being processed over a long period of time.

"Have drunk" is past tense and means kings have been drinking for a long period of time.

"Fornication" is not simply spiritual unfaithfulness, but also human perversion.

"Wrath" belongs to God alone.

"Kings" represents not just political or governmental heads, but anyone who has influence over the masses.

We cannot afford to miss the connection between sexual immorality and wealth. Sex and money.

"Another voice." Someone other than the mighty angel that was illuminating the earth. Someone else is speaking now. Who is it?

"Come Out" In verse 4, God through whatever agent, is commanding his people. Not the wicked. Not the unsaved. He is talking about believers. Christians.
What does it mean to come out from among them and be separate saith the Lord?

II Corinthians 6:16-18 ~

"And what agreement has the Temple of God with idols? For YOU ARE THE TEMPLE of the Living God. As God has said: 'I will dwell in them and walk among them. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.' Therefore 'COME OUT from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My Sons and Daughters, says the Lord Almighty."

The consequences of sin can and will fall on Christians just as they will on sinners, if they do not repent. The time for playing games is over. No more greasy-grace. No more sloppy-agape. God does not have mercy on sin, he has mercy on sinners.

In verse 5, God declares that He has had enough. God often waits for sin and iniquity to come to a full head. For the fruit of wickedness to ripen fully before He acts. He doesn't do this because He's negligent, but because He's giving time for people to repent, so He can show them mercy.

2 Peter 3:9-11 ~

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, NOT WILLING THAT ANY SHOULD PERISH, but that all should come to repentance. But the Day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in all holy conversation and godliness"

"Rememberance" The same way God forgives and forgets the sins of those who genuinely repent and turn away from evil, God remembers sin that is not turned away from. There is a requirement for God to both forgive, and forget sin. Is not given to all humans unilaterally.
