Superman Wins the Summer Battle, But Franchise Fatigue Won the WAR!

James Gunn's Superman will likely be the highest grossing superhero film of the year and when the final totals are tallied, it will be the weakest superhero box office in well over a decade. Some will point to fatigue of the genre, others will lash out at the audience, but it's obvious if you cast your gaze to entertainment at large: people are fed up with the slop.
