**What Happened to the Dream**

There is a slight sound defect at the end of the clip, we couldn't fix it

lyrics and music by Phoenix

He's an ordinary boy from the northern latitudes.
He believes that all people could be kinder.
He reads books in his free time
and watches the stars until he falls asleep.

And what has become of our childhood dream?
We've traded our lives for little circles of metal.
Our mothers were right to scold us in childhood.
A dream today means nothing in the world.

Once, he had everything ahead of him,
once, the world was big and beautiful,
and every day and hour was not in vain,
and everything was just about to happen.

But time runs on, it can't be turned back.
The north wind whispers: "Hold on, brother."
Hope still burns in his heart,
even though the world has already been conquered by evil.

He's coming from his studies, he's riding the metro.
In a crowd of people, he makes his way to the exit.
He looks around and comes to the conclusion
that evil has long since conquered good.

And what has become of our childhood dream?
We've traded our lives for little circles of metal.
Our mothers were right to scold us in childhood.
A dream today means nothing in the world.

The cold wind sees him home.
He lives in a very old apartment.
But in the dusty window, a star flickers,
as a reminder that the dream is alive.
