Operation Greyskull was a federal takedown of four dark web sites hosting images of children, toddlers and babies being raped and sexually abused, with 120,000 members and millions of files, some seeing 100,000 daily visits. Eighteen operators from states like Virginia, Maryland, and Oklahoma were convicted; the main leader received life in prison. Sites offered a "predator's handbook" on grooming children. While the sites remain down, the demand persists. Report suspicious material apps like Kik and Snapchat are improving reports to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, which has identified over 40,000 victims.
