Delaware Data Center

I recently saw an article about a proposed data center on my phone's news feed, and it hit me hard... it's way too close to home to ignore. While talking with a relative from New York about local events, the data center dominated our conversation as I shared what I’d learned. She asked, “Are you thinking of moving?” I replied, “I have my church, friends, and community here. I can’t just leave. Besides, these projects are popping up everywhere... is there really any escape?” My goal is to spread the word before it’s too late!

Quick Definitions:

Gigawatt: A gigawatt is a unit of power equal to one billion watts, commonly used to measure the output of large power plants or energy systems. For example, a typical nuclear power plant might produce around one gigawatt of electricity.

A decibel (dB) is a unit used to measure the intensity or power of a sound, or the relative strength of a signal, like in audio or electronics. It expresses a ratio on a logarithmic scale, making it easier to compare very large or small values.
Example
Imagine you’re listening to music:
• A whisper is about 20 dB (very quiet).
• Normal conversation is about 60 dB.
• A rock concert might be 100 dB (very loud).

Constant Noise (55–85 dB): Constant noise in the range of 55–85 decibels refers to ongoing sound levels typical of urban or industrial environments, such as traffic or machinery, which can disrupt human health or wildlife if prolonged. This level is comparable to the sound of a busy street or a lawnmower.

Ecosystem: An ecosystem is a community of living organisms interacting with their physical environment, functioning together as a unit. For instance, a forest ecosystem includes trees, animals, soil, and water working in balance.
Suburban Sprawl: Suburban sprawl describes the unplanned, low-density expansion of residential and commercial areas into rural or undeveloped land, often leading to environmental degradation and increased infrastructure costs. It typically results in car-dependent communities with strip malls and housing developments.

I created the background image using Grok and edited it with an older version of Paint Shop Pro. I also produced the video using an earlier version of Camtasia Studio, with limited skills =)
